A definite success for Seat and a victorious family hatchback
For those who love technology loaded cars and want some more from their daily driving experience, Seat Leon will definitely fulfill your need. It is not just a routine family hatchback, it is a one step further from family cars that makes you fly on road and you never want to end the ride. The face lifted version is the one that can answer your daily needs and the handiest one is a wireless charger for your phone. It’s challenging to have a family car that has difficult controls especially when you have kids with you. Seat has found a solution for this with less buttons and focusing mainly on installing the latest technology for the upgrading.
What’s new for the Engine?
A 1.0-Litre petrol three-cylinder turbocharged engine is introduced for the first time which produces 115bhp. The other 1.6 diesel engine is updated and it produces 115bhp; rest of the engines (if any) is still not revealed yet for the latest face lift. The gear box options include a five or six-speed manual gearbox along with the DSG auto. With this, the old engine range is still there to choose from.
Drive:
The engines respond very well to the driver, the starting ones are smooth while moving up the range, they become punchier but when pushed to higher revs, they make a grumpy noise in the interior.
The 1.0-Litre petrol engine is a pocket friendly one, with its less thirsty feature which makes it more attractive than the 1.2-Litre. This engine is slightly expensive but when running on the road it becomes economical. Even moving up the range the 1.4-Litre petrol engine with 123bhp or 148bhp option; the engine even shuts down half of its cylinder to save fuel while speeding.
Handling and Ride:
The ride is comfortable although a little firmer than its rivals, but it manages well to remain comfortable. The vehicle is well controlled and remains in balance in any situation especially at the corners, it remains flat and at every point keeps a strict check on body roll.
Every Seat Leon trim is nicely weighted to get that perfect handling and the steering is a delight with perfect obeying especially while placing the car accurately in bends and while parking. Regardless what engine you choose, it is one of those family hatchbacks that are quick in driving.
Interior Comfort:
There is no question about the comfort of this hatchback. The occupiers get quickly comfortable. The steering wheel can move in and out as well as up and down and the driving seat can well move forward and backward so there is no problem of seat adjustment. The 8 inch screen has a clear menu for most of its functions and with less buttons, it is easier to use.
Every system is in the reach of the driver which makes the vehicle suitable for family use as during your busy drive, reaching out for adjustments is a difficult task. But the question on the touch screen performance is still there as it becomes frustrating to use due to its hidden icons function which reappears when it detects the finger range. And at that time also the system delays the reappearing process which becomes wearisome especially while driving.
