It takes 7.5 seconds to reach from 0-62m/h along with good top speed of 122m/h. this engine is quite fast and brisk in performance. Fuel consumption of this engine is also not bad. It gives 40m/g of fuel average with 156g/km of Co2 emissions. This petrol engine is fitted with seven-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive unit as standard.

Two diesel engines are available in KIA Soul

1.6-Litre CRDi is a single diesel engine with two different outputs under its belt. One of them is a 126bhp and 192lb/ft torque. it takes 10.8 seconds to each from 0-62m/h along with top speed of 112m/h. fuel average of this diesel engine is 56m/g along with 132g/km of CO2 emissions. It is fitted with six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive as standard.

Second version of this diesel engine is a 134bhp and 192lb/ft torque. There is a very minor difference in output of this engine from the previous one. The major difference is this; it is available in seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive as standard.

Electric version of KIA Soul is also good

KIA has used an Electric version in its soul mini that is a good performer too. It is capable of 109bhp and 210lb/ft torque and takes 10.5 seconds to reach from 0-62m/h along with top speed of 90m/h. It is pure electric engine not a hybrid engine. It is available with one-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive assembly as standard.
