Mercedes-Maybach Confirms an Uber Expensive SUV Is Coming

A Mercedes-Maybach SUV will be launched, it has been officially confirmed. After the end of only Maybach brand in 2013, Mercedes-Benz tried to keep it alive by giving the Maybach name to S-Class. It is larger than the old one, extra refined and more luxurious. The Maybach S-Class is efficiently equipped than the standard model.

The Maybach nameplate is used to make the standard models ultra-exclusive as is the case with AMG. Mercedes-Benz bosses admitted that Maybach name will be used as a sub-brand just as the AMG. “The theory is that we will do more Maybach models,” said Martin Hulder project manager for the S-Class.

He further added that the treatment will not be given to all vehicles. He said that any Maybach must make sense because it is not about just giving the nameplate to any model. “Buyers rightly have high expectations of a Maybach, and we must be sure to always deliver on them.”

It is expected that Maybach GLS will be the next popular model in China and will likely to return some extra sales volume. Mercedes also plans to launch the GLS Maybach in the SUV market. The new SUV will compete in the same ultra-luxury segment as the future models of Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce.
