New Toyota Hilux 2016 arrived with European spec, improved comfort and new engines
More than 16 million units of Toyota Hilux pickups sold till today, now Toyota has introduced its eighth generation of Hilux with the plans to take on the SUVs in the mainland of Europe. The new pickup has a new chassis system and reinforced deck structure with enhanced off-roading capabilities. New pick-up is 90mm longer and 5mm lower than its predecessor. Towing capacity of the eighth generation has been increased by 3.2 tonnes.
There are two new engines offered on new Hilux, including a 2.4-litre D-4D diesel engine. This Toyota Hilux engine will offer a class-leading fuel economy, however, previously used 2.5-litre D-4D engine is carried over to the eighth generation of the Hilux.
An improved version of the Dual VVTi 2.7-litre petrol engine has been offered for petrol lovers. All engines are improved to return more than 9 percent extra fuel economy.
2.4-litre D-4D engine with manual gearbox returns 38 miles per gallon. The 2.8-litre D-4D returns almost 33 miles per gallon when using the automatic transmission.
New exterior design with better equipment and daytime running lights offers 12 white LED lights and redesigned front grille. Front grille design was the main focus and it gets light clusters and elegant bumper. There are two wheel options available, a 17-inch and an 18-inch. There are three colour options available and one can select from the orange spice, volcano red and hydro blue.
New seven-inch touch screen infotainment system dominated into the dashboard and all models get traction control A-TRC downhill Assist Control DAC and Hill Start Assist Control HAC. The new Toyota Hilux eighth generation has only announced for mainland Europe, however, there are no news about the release date, specifications or price details for the UK or even Europe.
