VW denies low cost diesel fixes and they are not chopping down $7 billion reserved for fixes
Volkswagen has gradually started fixing process on the diesel gate effected 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre engines. The repairing schedule has been approved by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority for the Volkswagen EA 189 engines. Volkswagen has announced that they are now preparing the campaign to start the engine fixing process.
The fixing process has been detailed in a press release and it is amazingly simple. But Volkswagen is still keeping it’s around $7 billion budget set aside for these fixes.
Volkswagen CEO Matthias Muller’s statement
Volkswagen group’s CEO Matthias Muller says that the fixing process is technically and financially manageable and is within the resources of Volkswagen. However, it is not sure that how much it will cost to complete the fixing process across the globe.
He said that the planned provisions will be applied according to the schedule and remember, that Volkswagen has its targets to fix the engines up to their ultimate performance and fuel economy and Volkswagen will make sure that neither VW engine will suffer any power loss or bad fuel economy across the globe. But after these fixes there will be still lot of space for surprises.
The starting point
Volkswagen is starting from its own home and said that the fixes will only be applied to the Volkswagen vehicles in Europe.
Where Europe is representing 8.2 million vehicles of those 8.5 million contradicting the compliance.
Get Ready For the Recall
The company planned the first recall in January this year and it is on the move with fixes from relevant dealerships. However, if someone has not received a recall letter yet, nothing to worry, because it will take more than a year to complete the first phase.
